Family Engagement and Support

We are keen to support our families and community here at Windsor Clive. We believe that your child's education is a partnership between your child, school, family and the wider community. The best outcomes for our children happen when we all work together. Strong relationships between home and school are key to success. We are proud to be part of the Community Focused Schools initiative.

Whilst supporting our families is a whole school approach, we also have a dedicated Family Engagement and Support Officer, Ceri-Ann Gilbert, who is on hand to help facilitate and run activities and access support services.

Ceri-Ann can be contacted directly by messaging on SeeSaw, by emailing GilbertC@hwbcymru.net, or can often be found around the main office or playgrounds at the beginning and end of the school day.

A message from our Family Engagement Officer:

Hi, I'm Ceri-Ann. I have the absolute pleasure of working here at Windsor Clive to support you, the parents and carers. I have been in post for 12 years now and was a volunteer here for a few years before that too. I am a Mum to 2 very nearly grown up children so have experienced lots of the challenges that you are facing with your families. I was born and raised in Ely; living just a few streets away from school until very recently, so I'm really familiar with the community.

I am a firm believer in that if we have the right support, there's nothing we can't overcome. I'm not classroom based, so you'll see me all around the school. I really dislike having my photo taken but find it's always easier to talk to someone if you have a face to go with the name so have added my picture here to make it easier for you.

For me, my role is all about empowering you to support your children. That takes many different shapes and forms. It could be running a session for you to spend some quality time, away from that pesky housework and life stresses, with your little one, getting you involved with tackling issues here at school and within the community, helping you fill out forms or even just letting you vent so you can go about your day a bit easier. I absolutely love seeing your little ones' faces light up when they see you've come along to something we are running at school. I can be very flexible with the support I offer and am always on the lookout for new ideas for involving you lovely grown ups in your child's education. You are your child's first and most important teacher, and you really do make a huge difference!

Our Family Room:

We are very lucky to have a Family Room here at Windsor Clive. It is located above the canteen, with a separate entrance near to our Moore Road playground entrance. For security reasons, the gate is kept locked but there is a wireless doorbell. Simply ring the bell and someone will come and meet you shortly. We do try to ensure that there is someone there to meet you at the gate for the start times of any sessions/activities running in the Family Room too.

Our Family Room is multi-purpose and hosts coffee mornings, arts and crafts sessions, adult courses, parent and child courses, meetings and much more. The room was lovingly decorated by parent volunteers in 2023. We are currently expanding the space to include a more permanent 'Community Shop' and kitchen area. The kettle is always on, so pop in and join us for our next event!
